Suddenly my mind stopped.
I no longer had any thoughts and I didn’t even have thoughts about having no thoughts.
My mind was peaceful, quiet and more Zen than I had ever experienced. In the silence I felt like I was watching myself drive and as I looked at people walking on the sidewalks on both sides of the road, I was able to observe them in so much detail that they appeared to be moving in slow motion.
My best guess is I was 100% present for the first time in my life.
No thoughts just total calmness.
It was weird and unfamiliar.
Every moment was perfect until the voice in my head returned about a minute later.
The voice was angry and told me to never turn him off again or else!
I guess my ego or conditioned mind was pissed off that I had somehow found the off switch.
Since that time, I have learned to slow my thoughts down to almost zero but have never reached that amazing Zen
